I make videos to help you with your history GCSE, whilst secretly aiming to turn you into a history nerd and increase your historical literacy whilst you're here. (Mwahahaha!)
I mostly cover the topics of Anglo-Saxon & Norman England, Crime & Punishment Through Time, Weimar & Nazi Germany, the Cold War and the American West for the 9-1 Edexcel GCSE spec (though non-GCSE students are welcome here too!). I also sometimes branch out beyond the curriculum into other history topics as part of my secret historical literacy mission!
About me: My name is Jasmine and I use she/her pronouns. I have first class BA in history from the University of Sheffield and am currently studying in Germany for an MA in Public History (contrary to popular belief I'm not a teacher!).
This channel is kept classroom friendly and video comments are heavily moderated.

*I rely on an official GCSE textbook heavily for the purpose of making sure that what I’m teaching falls in line with the GCSE curriculum, the problem with this, however, is that this official GCSE textbook is a somewhat questionable source. The textbook does not cite its sources, contains numerous errors and often outdated interpretations of the history. It very much does not hold up to academic standards and should not be used for anything other than GCSE revision.

WWI was NOT caused by a Sandwich: What is History?
Переглядів 2,9 тис.10 місяців тому
What is history? Seems obvious, right? It’s the past. It’s that subject at school where you have to memorise a bajillion facts and dates and then write soooo many words in an exam about these facts and dates that it feels like your hand, maybe even your whole arm, is going to fall off before you’re even five minutes in. I’m here to tell you that that’s wrong. School has lied to you. History is ...

It’s the 1920s and for many women, especially young, unmarried, working ones, living in big cities, the times are brining greater financial independence. Combined with more open attitudes, and having grown up through the war, meaning many are also used to greater social independence, there develops something of a new type of women. #GCSEHistory #GCSERevision #WeimarGermany PATREON: www.patre...

It’s 1919 and so-called moderates are the majority in the National Assembly, holding 77% of seats. The social democrats have worked with the democrats and the centre party to create the Weimar Republic so perhaps this is unsurprising. However there are also far left and right-wing parties who don’t support the republic. To understand what’s going on, it might help take a look at who the parties...

Hi, i think you forgot the main reason the hyperinflation started, and it was because the french invaded the Ruhr because they were upset that Germany was no longer able to pay repartions so the government told the workers in the Ruhr to not listen to the French and they printed money to pay the workers but the more money they printed, the more value it lost. Have a wonderful day/night! :D

I am currently less than a full day away from my last history GCSE exam. I intend to take this subject for A level, but I am aware that as far as GCSE is concerned this will likely be one of the last times I will watch your channel. I want you to know just how helpful you have been since I began watching your videos in preparation for my mock in year 10. It is difficult to express just how positive of an impact that your work has had on me as an individual going into my first particularly stressful exams, and I am immensely grateful for everything you have done to help students like me. Thank you so much.
